A different league!

Colin Tough Joinery marked the launch of its new showroom and workshop facilities with an open day event held at its base in Kintore, Inverurie. Supported by Profile 22 fabricator Merlin Network (Scotland), business owners Colin and Heather Tough were also joined by Aberdeen FC defender Mark Reynolds who performed the official opening.

The addition of a showroom is the latest step in the company’s expansion plans. Established 12 years ago as a sole-trading operation, Colin and Heather have worked hard during that time to develop the business; it now employs four full-time members of staff including an apprentice, and is supported by a strong and loyal customer base. The strength of this relationship was evident on the day with around 35 local joiners, builders, plumbers and electricians joining the celebrations.

Speaking after the event, Colin Tough said: “All in all the afternoon was a great success. Having Mark here gave the opening a real sense of occasion. He was also happy to autograph various items which went down well, including my special issue Cup final shirt!

“Everyone had a good look at the FS70 windows on display as well as our new door selection. There was a real buzz, with lots of questions being asked and interest in the products; a good number of leaflets and brochures were picked up during the afternoon. In fact, Mark may well be back as his wife is keen to get a new back door fitted!”

Both Profile 22 and Merlin Network (Scotland) have been more than happy to support Colin and Heather Tough with their business expansion plans as Jeff Beck, business development manager at Merlin Network (Scotland) explained: “It’s great to see things going so well for Colin and the team. Over the past 12 years both he and Heather have been dedicated to making their business successful, and we’re pleased to be associated with such a strong and vibrant company. We look forward to supporting them in all their future endeavours.”
