Heritage launches Second-generation door selector

Bolton-based trade fabricator Heritage Trade Frames has launched its second-generation door selector increasing ease of use and featuring an expanded product range.

The SafeGuard Door Designer2 allows installers to choose from over 35 different GRP door options and combine them with a an ever expanding decorative glass range to create, price and then order a door online.

As well as expanding the traditional door range a new range of contemporary designs have been added to meet growing demand. The designer also features a choice of four different stable door options with the new system replacing their existing door designer launched by the Profile 22 fabricator in early 2010

Sean Munsie, managing director, Heritage Trade Frames said: “The Safeguard Door Designer2 delivers dual benefits. Installers can sit down with a householder and show them exactly what options are available and then once they have made that choice, price it, order online and then track their order.

“The first generation designer was good but this one is even easier to use. With a vastly expanded choice of door designs, glass designs and hardware options including SBD availability we are able to support our installers in closing business out in the field”

As part of this commitment to customer support Heritage Trade Frames is also making a version of the Safeguard Door Designer2 available to qualifying installers. This allows them to host an own-branded version of the designer on their websites to support consumer lead-generation.

Heritage’s SafeGurad GRP range is manufactured using the Profile 22 dedicated outer frame and Nan Ya 44mm GRP door slab.

Figures for the composite door market provide one of the few positive areas of reading for the window and door industry.

Describing it as “the success story for the UK window industry” in its 2011 Annual PVC-U Window Industry Report published at the end of the summer, D&G Consulting forecast consistent growth in composite door volumes from 620,000 units this year to 664,000 units by 2014. It adds that this rate of growth can be expected to increase as retail markets catch up with the social sector.

Sean Munsie added: “One of the biggest bonuses for the industry is not only do composite doors stand up as an added value product on a general window installation but also as a stand-alone product offering customer kerb appeal. These smaller jobs can be useful in maintaining turnover and increasing margins.”

In addition to the Safeguard Door Designer2, Heritage Trade Frames also operates a comprehensive online product pricing, ordering and tracking platform available to all its customers. Again this allows installers to input dimensions, glass and finish specifications, apply their trade discount and order online.

Both this and the Safeguard Door Designer2 can be accessed through the trade portal on the Heritage website www.heritagetradeframes.co.uk. A trade only priced demonstration version of the door designer is also available on request by emailing sales@heritagetradeframes.co.uk.
